Book Discussion Group:
The next book group will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m. (a simultaneous in-person and Zoom meeting). The group will be discussing Loving Jesus by Mark Allen Powell. Powell postulates that the essence of spirituality is loving God. The Bible directs us not simply to obey God, to trust in God, to follow God, and to serve God – but to trust in God. Can we learn to love God? Powell encourages followers to revisit their faith not by blazing in religious enthusiasm, but by harboring a steadier flame and deeper commitment. The book can be found in Amazon in hard copy or digital format.
