Adventurer Articles
The next edition of the Adventurer will be for May and June. If you have any items to add to the Adventurer, please email them to the office by Wednesday, April 12th!
Easter Flowers
If you would like to sponsor Easter flowers, forms are located on the Welcome Center. Forms are due by Monday, April 3rd. You may also make sponsorships to Tenfold in lieu of flowers.
Intergenerational Event
You are invited to attend Ascension's 2023 Easter Adventure! All members of Ascension - children, youth, families, singles, couples - are welcomed to join us on Sunday April 2 following worship (beginning approximately at 10:45 a.m.). Our event will being with a delicious brunch and fellowship food. Immediately following brunch, our Easter Adventure begins! Devotion & prayer; Scavenger Hunt; Easter themed crafts; and creating a Resurrection Terrarium!
Summer Mowing Teams
If you are able to volunteer your time to help care for the church grounds, please contact the Hillers. Your work, time, and dedication are appreciated! The congregation is looking for two more volunteers who can offer 2.5 hours once every four weeks.
WASS Group
The Widows and Senior Singles Group will meet again on Wednesday, April 19th. The group will dine at Agape in Strasburg (down the road from Sight & Sound). If you would like to carpool to the restaurant, please meet at the church by 11:30 a.m. A sign-up is posted in the narthex for those who wish to attend.
First Sunday Fellowship
The next First Sunday Fellowship will be combined with the Intergenerational Event on April 2nd.
Would you consider being a host/hostess for one of our upcoming Fellowship Hours? We are looking for persons to host in June and August. Please sign up in the narthex and see the bulletin board for details to contact Julie S, the Fellowship Hour Coordinator.
We need worship for our spirit and fellowship for our soul.
Joseph's Table Community Meal
The next "take-out" only meal will be served on Thursday, April 20 from 5:30-6:00 p.m.

Men's Breakfast
The next men's breakfast will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 8:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall (if you would like to help cook, come at 7:30 a.m.).
Lydia Circle
All women of the parish are invited to join Lydia Circle. The next Lydia Circle gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. The group will make an Easter craft and prepare cards for residents at Magnolia Manor.
Lydia Circle will be collecting items for Tenfold:
February: newborn diapers
March: Canned fruit and fruit cups
April: Juice boxes and Sports drinks
May: Canned soups and stews
June: Granola bars and Hot/Cold cereals
- Lutheran World Relief (click here): Your gifts will be used to deliver urgent support and care, like: food, shelter, and other critically needed items; mission quilts and kits for families who have fled their homes; and medicine and supplies for clinics. Use primarily to support people impacted by the war in Ukraine.
- ELCA Disaster Response (click here): Hurricane Ian made landfall with near Category 5 winds and dumping major amounts of rain, causing flooding. With two more months of hurricane season, LDR is ready to respond to the need.
Casting our Nets Prayer Shawl Ministry
Casting Our Nets, Ascension's Prayer Shawl Ministry, provides beautifully knitted and crocheted prayer shawls to members, family, and friends of the congregation. If you would like a prayer shawl to give to someone experiencing illness, loss, or another need, please stop by the church. Prayer shawls can be found in the closet located in the church library. Casting our Nets meets every 1st and 3rd Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room.
Quarterly Blood Drive
Mark your calendars! The next blood drive, hosted by Ascension and the Willow Street Lion's Club, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3rd from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. More details to come closer to the date!
Water Street Mission Collection
If you would like to make an in-kind donations to the "Needs List" at WSM, Ascension will be collecting the following items for March (please place items in the designated box): Hand soap bottles with pumps; hand soap refills; dish soaps; baby bottle brushes (for cleaning).
Solanco Food Bank Donations
Non-perishable Food Items: Canned corn beef, canned salmon, canned beef stew, Spam, cooking oil, applesauce (23 oz. cans, sweetened or unsweetened), Mayonnaise, Fruit cocktail (no sugar added), canned peaches or pears (no sugar added) Non-food items: baby wipes, full sized toothpaste, Size 5 and 6 baby diapers
You may also make monetary donations to the food bank by: 1) Making a donation through your giving envelope (Please write "Solanco Food Bank" on the envelope); 2) Send a check directly to Solanco Neighborhood Ministries (write "Food Bank" on the memo link), 355 Buck Road, Quarryville, PA 17566.

Ascension will continue to support BOH families with rental assistance. If you would like to make a donation, please label your offering envelope "BOH rental assistance." Thank you to everyone who continues to make a gift!
