Rev. Maureen L. Seifried
Pastor

Rev. Maureen L. Seifried was born and raised in Central PA.  Baptized in the Lutheran Church, she grew up as a “PK” (pastor’s kid).  Following high school, she attended Susquehanna University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and religion.  During college, she received the call to pursue ordained ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and entered the candidacy process of the Lower Susquehanna Synod.  Pastor Seifried attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, where she earned a Master of Divinity.  In 2008, she was called to the Punxsutawney Lutheran Parish in the Northwestern PA Synod and served two congregations until 2016.  In 2016, she was called as the associate pastor of Ascension and returned to the Lower Susquehanna Synod.  She served in that role until 2021 when the senior pastor retired.  Pastor Seifried was called as the lead pastor of Ascension in 2021 and has been serving in that role ever since.

John Zielinksi
Minister of Music

John was born and raised in Seattle, where he attended Seattle University and the University of Washington. He has performed concerts throughout the United States, Canada, South America, and Europe. Mr. Zielinski was a staff pianist and member of the extension faculty at the Boston Conservatory of Music for ten years. He has performed with the Seattle University Chamber Symphony, the Broadway Symphony, and the Claflin Hill Symphony, among many other ensembles. In 2019 he was awarded the Colleague Prize by the American Guild of Organists. John is active in the American Guild of Organists, where he has served on the board of directors for the past six years and maintains their website. He is also a counselor for the Workshop for Young Performing Artists, administered by Musical Arts Society.
