Tenfold Shopping Days

An outreach idea will become a reality: “Shopping from Trunks” is a version of “Trunk or Treat” only better!

We will be presenting residents @ Tenfold the opportunity to select fresh foods and some packaged items from the trunks of our vehicles on Tuesday, October 21 (meet at church at 5:00 p.m., event from 6:00-8:00 p.m.).

This idea has received the enthusiastic approval of Dan Mesher, Director of Programs, for Tenfold who stated that outside consideration like this for their circumstances means a great deal! We have had initial discussion to implement this idea hopefully by late September / early October.

The current 65 residents (including 20 children) will be able to select lunch meats/cheese, peanut butter/jelly, breads, fruits and vegetables, broth, pasta, selected drinks and snack bars. We will provide a list of specific items which the congregation is encouraged to donate beginning in September.

The residents do not have a place to prepare food at their temporary location, the Dutchway Hotel on Lititz Pike, during renovations to their building in Lancaster…this process will take a year and only began in June! They have a mini fridge, microwave and can borrow a small crockpot and kitchen knives but have no cutting boards or prep space.
